Among the various projects designed in Ramechhap Polytechnic Institute, commercial vegetable production is one of the golden project. This project aims to fulfill the syllabus criteria and students are able to perform different key skills and activities. The design adopted for commercial vegetable production are mono cropping, intercropping, row cropping, vertical farming and integrated farming. The vegetable production project not only deals about vegetable production but also about different aspects of soil management, methods and techniques of plant protection, ideas and tools of post-harvest handling of goods, marketing and value addition.
The vegetable production project includes tomato, potato, cauliflower, cabbage, bitter gourd, squash etc. The project is first designed by a group of students and instructed by instructor. Regular monitoring and field visit is performed to collect the data for the further analysis. There are different mini research designed by instructor and assistant instructor.
